I need to get out

23 Mar

I’m getting fed up with food again.
I have no idea if anyone else gets like this, but its really frustrating.
There is no pleasure from food anymore and there seems no point in buying it. Whatever I get there is too much and I know I wont use it all. I really miss having a salad, I loved salads, but why bother getting it, I will only have a small amount and the rest will go to waste, if I even get much of the salad in because I need to have protein first.

And the protein. There needs to be more wls patients creating recipies for vegetarians!
It seems there is no creativity in my meals anymore, I’d like to get excited about it, enjoying cooking but I can’t, I would love to be more like Eggface, but nothing, maybe if I was cooking for more than me, it would help, but it’s just me!

There is so much food in my fridge, but it all ends up thrown out because I’m just so bored of it. I hate being wasteful!

Wonder if there are any cooking courses I can go on to learn something and maybe have some fun. I need to do something I am slowly going crazy with nothing to do. This is where I miss living in a city, so much more to do, places to go, Costas to visit than my little town. Maybe I should move again!

Noooo my family wouldn’t kill me!

I need to take note!

I’ve been there. It’s typically a phase. I think the best way to get over the phase is to hit all of our healthy pick up places. You know those places where you buy your salad, or grilled chicken breast, and other healthy choices. Do that for a couple of weeks, and you’ll be sick to death of eating out and ready to head back home.

Cooking for one is a little more challenging I am sure, especially when recipes are generally for families. I don’t know about you, but looking at recipes online or in cookbooks just cause me to buy way too many products, and then I don’t end up having time to work through the recipe, so I end up using the products for something else, which is totally ok, too.

I have found the best thing for me is to take a day a week and cook up all my proteins and have them in the frig for the week (or a plan for a crockpot meal–they have little crockpots too) and roasting veggies to keep in the frig–of course have some raw veggies and fruits for snacks too. Then just mix them all up throughout the week. I will even cook my sweet potatoes ahead of time and just cut off the portion I want, which is getting smaller and small YAY.

You can do it. Check out http://www.cleaneatingmag.com. They have a link for like 5 ingredient meals and 10 minute meals and they may even have one for small meals. Good luck.

For some reason I only just seen your comment! Thank you, it is so hard, I’m using lattes as a food substitute that’s for sure, I really need to get organised. I’ll take a look at the link, thank you x
